that this Bank is resenting very much the aspersion oust upon it though the ban has been removed so quickly and that ur. May told me they were now considering whether to send the documents out "for collec tion" through the International Banking Jorporation.

After discussing the matter and its possibilities, they asked ne to call upon you for some assurances that political expediency will not hercaiter cause a similar surprise, which might make it impossible for your bank to remit to them the funds collected by you; and in this regard I may add that my own Jompany (being of course responsible to the Guaranty Trust to cover their acceptances) would be equally affected if such a position should at any time arise.

I shall call upon you either tomorrow or on Monday morning to see whether you and I cannot arrive at some settlement which is ac- ceptable to the Guaranty Trust, and I shall of course take the first opportunity to tell br. Hay what you told me over the 'phone, namely that your Bank was certainly not connected with this affair.

Youre very truly,
